Even with this website, you're still bound to have questions. There are many resources for your disposal, and we've outlined the most helpful ones under popular help topics below.
In Windows, select Help from the Start Menu or from the application's Toolbar. The Windows Tour is a good place to begin, and it only takes a few minutes!
On a Mac, select Help from the Menu Bar or double-click on the Macintosh Guide.
You are certainly welcome to ask any of the Instructional Associates walking around the High Tech Centers or the computer labs on campus for assistance. Simply raise your hand while at a computer and an Instructional Associate will be with you shortly.

Course Work and Related Questions...
Your best resource is your instructor. There are three ways to contact your instructor:
Leave your instructor a Voice Mail Message:
If your instructor has given you a Voice Mailbox number, you may leave messages by using the following instructions:
- Dial 480.731.8866 (the VoiceMail system for the Maricopa Community Colleges). Press * if you want to bypass the welcome messages.
- Enter the 5-digit voice mailbox number for your instructor, or you may dial by name. To dial by name, enter 1 and then the digits that correspond to the instructor's name. For example, button 2 is for either A, B, or C.
- You will be asked to verify the instructor's name. Leave your message.
Send your instructor an email:
Most instructors have an email address, which can be found on their course syllabus handed out at the beginning of the course or on their website.
Please keep in mind that instructors receive a lot of email and spam everyday. Here are some tips to ensure your instructor reads your email:
- If the instructor provides instructions regarding how an email should be written, follow them. This could include specific directions for how the subject line should be written, what kind of information they ask you to provide in the body of your message, and/or other things. If you don't follow the instructor's directions exactly, they most likely won't read your message. If the instructor has not provided any instructions, then keep reading.
- Send your instructor an email from your Student Email account. This makes it easier for your instructor to identify that you are a student and that your email is important. For more detail on sending email from your Student Email account (even from off- campus), please read the Email section of this website.
- Ensure your email's Subject Line is straight-forward and includes both your course number and section number. Some instructors teach at least two classes, and it helps when you include your course and section number, both of which can be found on your Class Schedule, which is located on the invoice GCC mails you after you register. For example, suppose you're in an English class and you have a question related to something being discussed in class -- suppose it's Robinson Crusoe. A good subject line would be: ENG101 Sect. 1234 - Question on Robinson Crusoe.
- In your message, state your question as clearly as possible. Simply saying "I don't understand the book" doesn't help the teacher understand what specifically you are having trouble understanding. A question could be, "On p.43, the character named Friday talked about [something]. What does [something] mean?"
- Finally, remember to include your name at the end of the message so they know who wrote the message.
Visit your instructor during their office hours:
Each instructor has set aside time each week outside of class to help you better understand the material. Visit their office to ask questions, seek a more detailed explanation of a topic you didn't understand, or talk about a grade you received. Their office location and their office hours are usually available on their website or on the class syllabus. And, their office is usually in the same building as the department is located. For example, for English courses, your instructor's office would be in the building where the English Department's offices are located.

Please talk to your instructor regarding the following, as they're responsible for all content on the website and anything related to your coursework:
- Grade disputes
- Validation Codes for assignments, tests, quizzes
- Questions about assignments, tests
- Report spelling errors and broken links on the Blackboard site - that is, once you're logged in and you're viewing content in your course's Blackboard folder.
- Verify your enrollment in the course
There are three things the Student HelpDesk can assist with:
- Troubleshoot login issues
- Assist with finding your instructor's contact information - after you've tried to look for your instructor's information first
- Direct you to the appropriate people if there is something wrong with your account

Your eGCC Account, Student Email
Sometimes, there are problems that you, your instructor, or the Instructional Associates just can't figure out. This is the time when the Student HelpDesk and TRI step in. We have the authority to do the following:
- Fix your eGCC Account
- Assist you in troubleshooting your Wireless connection to GCC's wireless network, after you read the instructions
- Grant additional storage space
- Troubleshoot login problems you might be experiencing
- Reset your eGCC Password
On-Campus: Stop by the Student HelpDesk in HT1. Any of the staff there should be able to assist you.
Off-Campus: Please call the Student Help Desk at 623.845.3555 x 2 or send an email message to student-helpdesk@student.gc.maricopa.edu. Please note that we will not be able to send nor confirm login information to an outside email address due to privacy concerns.
